Fran Garcia, a Researcher at the Unit of Agricultural Mechanization (UMA) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), is actively involved in NOVATERRA, focusing on leveraging existing technologies and sensors to enhance agricultural management and mitigate the negative impacts of pesticides in viticulture and olive oil production.
Through the implementation of NOVATERRA’s tools and technologies, farmers with limited innovation capacity can effectively decrease the frequency of treatments throughout the season. Moreover, these tools enable farmers to strategically allocate treatments based on real-time risk assessments derived from climate conditions.
