NOVATERRA on track to contribute to better integrated pest management

An article published in the Spanish professional journal of plant health Phytoma outlines key progress achieved by NOVATERRA in reducing the use of pesticides in Mediterranean vineyards and olive groves.

As shown on the picture, the project is exploring robotic technologies for weed management. The University of Porto’s research centre and member of NOVATERRA consortium, INES TEC, has designed Modular-E, a robot that can load both fertilisation accessories and various tools for weeding. This small-sized, fully self-contained solution will enable new sustainable strategies for weed control.
